Men’s Football Manchester City condemn Watford to the relegation zone after emphatic 4-0 win

MANCHESTER CITY dominated against Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night in their penultimate game of the season.

Aston Villa beat Arsenal in the only other Premier League fixture of the night, which could prove to be huge with Villa also battling to stay up.

The Hornets will have to wait for the final day of the season to decide their fate for the next season.

Manchester City have beaten Watford in their last 13 fixtures in all competitions.

City bounced back from their FA Cup loss in empathic style, playing high-intensity football for 90 minutes and looked hungry for more goals even in added time.

They had a real desire to raise the tempo to get ready for Champions League football, having recently found out the UCL ban had been lifted for next season.

Phil Foden played a tremendous game and found himself on the scoresheet, giving the Watford defenders a tough night.

The young English attacking midfielder has proven to be a real talent with his pace, vision and goal-scoring prowess.

Man City put four goals in the back of the net, even with some immense saves from Ben Foster.

Raheem Sterling game close to yet another hat-trick but got subbed off before he could score a third.

Sterling said: “After a disappointing game at Wembley, we had to find some sort of rhythm today.”

Man City face Real Madrid in the Champions League, which, he added, “is going to be a massive game. They finished the season brilliantly. They won the league. It’s going to be a strong test because they’re a great team.”

Sterling is looking to finish the season with an astonishing 20 goals, the winger is on 19 after scoring a brace on Tuesday night.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola said on his star winger: “I don’t have any complaints. I love when the players can achieve their desires and score the goals and have the commitment to score the goals. I like it.”
