Men’s football
Derry top the League of Ireland by three points after James Akintunde’s injury time header earned them a 2-1 comeback win at Bohemians. They now boast the only unbeaten record in the league after Sligo went down 1-0 at home to Shelbourne.
Reigning champions Shamrock Rovers moved up to second with a 3-0 victory at Finn Harps, St Patricks drew 1-1 with Drogheda and Dundalk beat bottom club UCD 2-0.
Men’s rugby league
Penrith top the NRL with the only 100 per cent record after seeing off South Sydney Rabbitohs 26-12. Second-placed Melbourne steamrollered Canterbury 44-0 and Parramatta outmuscled St George 48-14.
Cronulla eased past Newcastle 18-0, the Roosters won 28-4 in North Queensland and Manly beat Canberra 25-6.
Bottom club Wests fell 8-6 at Gold Coast to remain without a win and Brisbane lost 20-6 to the NZ Warriors.
Men’s rugby union
Leinster opened up a 10-point lead in the United Rugby Championship after they brushed off Munster 34-19 and Ulster lost 34-16 to the Bulls In Pretoria.
Glasgow thumped bottom club Zebre 40-12 to move third and the Lions edged out Edinburgh 15-9. Connacht held on to beat Benetton 21-17, Sharks thrashed the Dragons 51-3, Scarlets saw off Cardiff 35-20 and Ospreys lost 29-13 at the DHL Stormers.
Men’s football
Wrexham will face Bromley in May’s FA Trophy final at Wembley after Paul Mullin’s stoppage time double earned them a 2-0 win over Stockport, who currently sit 10 points clear in the National League and look set for a return to the Football League.
Bromley came from behind to beat York City 3-1 thanks to two Michael Cheek goals and a late strike from James Alabi.
