MEN’S FOOTBALL: Reigning champions Shamrock Rovers travel to Drogheda tomorrow evening with their League of Ireland lead down to four points after a 2-0 loss at form-team Dundalk last week. Second-placed St Patrick’s face Cork City, stuttering Derry host Sligo Rovers, Bohemians take on Dundalk and UCD, who were mauled 7-0 by St Patrick’s last time out and sit 13 points adrift of safety, play Shelbourne in tomorrow night’s Dublin derby.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: 50 over action returns with the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy tomorrow as the table-topping East Midlands-based Blaze look to protect the league’s only unbeaten record when they host second-placed Northern Diamonds at Chesterfield. It’s third against fourth when the South East Stars take on Central Sparks and bottom club North West Thunder, still searching for their first win, are up against the Southern Vipers in Southport.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Wigan, Leigh and Warrington all get the chance to temporarily close the gap at the top of the Super League to two points tomorrow evening as top of the pile Catalans Dragons are not in action until Saturday, when they welcome Huddersfield to Perpignan. Wigan travel to basement dwellers Wakefield, Leigh are at struggling Castleford and out-of-form Warrington take on reigning champions St Helens.

NETBALL: With the World Cup tip off in South Africa just three weeks away Malawi, currently ranked sixth best in the world, have named Team Bath’s Caroline Mtukule and Towera Vinkhumbo from the Stratchclyde Sirens in their squad. Vinkhumbo was the Super League’s leading interceptor during the 2023 season. Trinidad and Tobago’s squad will include Celtic Dragons defender Shaquanda Greene-Noel. Trinidad are 11th in the world rankings.
