Tennis’s new big-money United Cup will start in Australia tomorrow, giving players the chance to shake off the Christmas cobwebs ahead of January’s Open.
The tournament is a new joint venture between the men’s ATP and women’s WTA tours and has £12.4 million prize money and 1,000 ranking points available.
Eighteen countries have sent teams to Brisbane, Perth and Sydney for the group stages, after which each city champ and runner-up will head to Sydney to battle it out for the crown.
