Men's Football Venezuela celebrates easy 3-0 victory over the United States

VENEZUELA hammered the United States 3-0 at a friendly match in Cincinnati yesterday.

Poor defending and worse goalkeeping from the US allowed the Latin Americans to blast three goals past US keeper Zack Steffen after only 36 minutes into the first half.

Constant pressure on the US defence resulted in a 16 minute goal by West Brom forward Salomon Rondon.

Jefferson Savarino scored on the rebound after his own shot came off the post in the 30th minute.

Six minutes later a through ball put Rondon one-on-one with Steffen and the ball found its way into the back of the net again.

Venezuela boss Rafael Dudamel praised his team’s performance.

“It is good that our country celebrates. It is one of the first motivations we have, to give our country happiness,” Dudamel added.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro praised the national side on Twitter.

“I feel proud of our warriors. They have achieved a great victory (3-0) against the the United States. Bravo Boys! Bravo Salomon! They are the Golden Generation of our beloved Venezuela. Congratulations!”
