ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta gave his unconditional support to Bukayo Saka following the 19-year-old’s Three Lions penalty miss heartbreak.
Speaking after the Gunners disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hibernian at Easter Road on Tuesday evening, Arteta took time to praise the talented teenager.
Saka missed his spot-kick as Italy won the European Championship after beating England 3-2 on penalties following a tight 1-1 draw after extra time at Wembley at the weekend, which saw the youngster receive racist abuse on social media.
“He’s been down,” said Arteta, “but the support, the love and the admiration of everybody in world football is the biggest trophy that he can have.
“He had an incredible season, he was the best player in our club for the whole season, he played for England, he earned the place to play right there at 19.
“What else do you want? Yes, the cup, but you cannot have everything in this football.”
