Women's Football Women's Super League weekend talking points

MILLIE TURNER will be absent for Manchester United for an indefinite period after medical investigations revealed an issue with the artery in her neck. She will take part in modified training and reassessments over the coming weeks as she recovers.

Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw away at Brighton as the steely defence of Hope Powell’s side stopped the titleholders from scoring. With Sam Kerr away at the Asian Cup, are we likely to see more of the like?

The Covid-19 situation in the Women’s Super League is rapidly improving. There were only two positives during the last week of testing, down from 40 in the week after the winter break. With no games being cancelled this weekend, we might be seeing the league return to some level of normality.

Marcus Bignot’s return — he missed last week’s game due to managing Guiseley’s men — saw Birmingham markedly improve. He may not officially be the team’s head coach but he seems to assume that role whenever he’s there.
