Scottish Labour condemns ‘scandalous’ state of Scotland's A&Es

SCOTTISH Labour has condemned the “scandalous” state of A&Es in Scotland as waiting lists grow to new record levels.

Statistics published today by Public Health Scotland show that the number of people waiting more than four, eight and 12 hours at accident and emergency departments has hit the highest recorded level.

The country’s SNP government says that 95 per cent of patients should be seen and subsequently either discharged or admitted to hospital within four hours, but this target has not been met since 2017.
