MEN’S BOXING: Undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk confirmed today he will vacate his IBF title, clearing the way for Anthony Joshua to fight for it.

With the Ukrainian now contracted to a rematch with Fury, he is not in a position to defend the IBF crown against interim champion and mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois.

That means Dubois’ expected fight against Joshua at Wembley in September could now be for the vacant title.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Tomorrow’s break in the Euros schedule puts Copa America action on centre stage with Group B’s unbeaten teams Venezuela and Mexico clashing in Atlanta before Panama meet the USA in New Jersey.

Brazil were held to a 0-0 draw by Costa Rica in Group D on Tuesday while Canada beat Peru 1-0 and Argentina edged out Chile by the same score on Wednesday to seal their qualification for the quarter finals.

MEN’S CRICKET: Afghanistan face unbeaten South Africa in the opening Twenty20 World Cup semi final in Trinidad tomorrow morning.

The Afghans only gained full member status of the International Cricket Conference in 2017 and are making their first appearance in the last four of a top-level tournament.

Defending champions England face India, who still have a 100 per cent record, in the second semi-final tonight in Guyana.

HOCKEY: Britain’s men take on Belgium in the FIH Pro-League in Amsterdam tomorrow afternoon.

The British currently sit fourth in the table, three points ahead of tomorrow’s opponents despite losing 3-1 to them in Utrecht on Sunday.

Britain beat Germany 1-0 on Monday.

Britain’s women, who lost 2-1 against Belgium on Tuesday,  are currently languishing in seventh place before they face Germany at lunchtime tomorrow.
