Sixteen days of strike action announced at rail manufacturing giant Vossloh

SIXTEEN days of strike action has been announced at rail manufacturing giant Vossloh.

The GMB union says more than 90 per cent of its members rejected a real-terms pay cut offer after the company made £2.3 million in profits last year.

Organiser Colin Todd has urged Vossloh to “get back around the table with an offer that reflects the value our members bring to the company.”

Strike action at the Scunthorpe-based company will take place on Friday and next Friday, with further walkouts from October 31.

Mr Todd added: “It’s disappointing that it has come to this.

“Vossloh are a major provider of parts and components for UK Network Rail and strike action will no doubt have a significant impact on the company.

“Disruption to repairs across the UK’s rail network could be on the cards if Vossloh management don’t get serious about settling this dispute.”

The company, based in Werdohl, Germany, has been contacted for comment.
