GAELIC GAMES: Mayo won the All-Ireland senior Football Championship after beating last year’s winners Kerry 1-20 to 1-17 in front of a capacity 82,000 crowd at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

It’s the first time in 75 years that Mayo have lifted the Sam Maguire Cup and during that time they have lost out in 12 finals.

Kerry led by a point at half time before Darragh Beirne’s goal after the break turned the tide in Mayo’s favour.

WOMEN’S DARTS: Beau Greaves edged out Fallon Sharrock 6-5 at Blackpool on Sunday evening to win her third women’s World Matchplay Championship in four years.

In the men’s event Luke Littler averaged 111.53 to see off Gerwyn Price 18-9 in the final, becoming only the fourth player to defend the title.

The 19-year-old also set a new tournament average record of 111.04 on his way to winning £225,000 in prize money.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Shamrock Rovers are 2-0 down before Tuesday evening’s Champions League second qualifying round second leg tie against Ararat-Armenia in Dublin.
