DARTS: Luke Littler continued his superb run of form by picking up the UK Open title and £110,000 prize money after averaging over 101 and hitting nine 180s as he thrashed three-time champion James Wade 11-2 in Sunday night’s final in Minehead.
WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Glasgow City moved top of the Scottish Premier League on goal difference after they saw off Motherwell 4-0 and previous leaders Rangers could only come from two down to draw 2-2 with Hearts.
Second-placed Hibs edged out reigning champions Celtic 1-0, Queen’s Park drew 0-0 with Partick, Aberdeen squeezed past Spartans 1-0 and bottom of the table Dundee United lost out 3-1 at home to Montrose.
CYCLING: Soren Waerenskjold claimed the biggest win of his career when the little-known Norwegian, who rides for the Uno-X team, won the uphill sprint finish at Omloop het Nieuwsblad ahead of Paul Magnier and Jasper Philipsen.
Philipsen went on to win Sunday’s Kuurne-Brussells-Kuurne race with Olav Kooij second and Hugo Hofstetter third. Belgium’s Lotte Claes, who was part of an early breakaway, won the women’s Omloop race.
