NETBALL: London Pulse top the Super League with the only remaining unbeaten record after brushing aside the Mavericks 78-42.

Elmere van der Berg netted 52 goals as Manchester climbed into second place with an 82-57 win over Nottingham Forest, and defending champions Loughborough won 72-58 at Leeds on Sunday to move to third.

A serious injury to Cardiff’s Leah Middleton caused their match with Birmingham to be abandoned.

CYCLING: Slovenian rider Primoz Roglic won the Volta a Catalunya by 28 seconds from Spain’s Juan Ayuso after a solo attack on the repeated climbs to Montjuic earned him victory on the seventh stage.

Enric Mas was third overall with Simon Yates, the highest placed Briton, in 9th, 1 minute and 46 seconds behind the winner.

His brother Adam, who won the race in 2021, finished 32nd, over 10 minutes behind Roglic.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: A hat-trick from Alexis D’Aoust steered the Manchester Storm to a shock 5-1 win at Elite League table-toppers Belfast Giants on Sunday evening.

The Giants now lead defending champions Sheffield, who beat bottom club Fife 8-4, by just one point with two games to go in the regular season.

Nottingham Panthers are a further three points back in third after they slumped to a 4-1 defeat in Guildford.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Hibs won 3-0 at Motherwell to remain two points clear in the Scottish Women’s Premier League with second-placed Rangers seeing off Hearts 4-0.

Celtic’s hopes of retaining their title were all but extinguished by a 2-1 loss at home to Glasgow City, Spartans beat Montrose 3-2, Aberdeen won 2-1 at Partick and Queen’s Park came from two down, scoring twice in stoppage time, to win 3-2 at bottom club Dundee United.
