MORE than 700 academics and teachers have signed an open letter demanding Ofsted drop instructions to its inspectors to quiz Muslim girls in primary schools over wearing the hijab.
The letter warns that the schools watchdog risks “reinforcing an anti-Muslim political culture.”
It claims that the government’s anti-radicalisation Prevent strategy has “institutionalised Islamophobia in schools and across the public sector.”
