Trade Unionists take anti-cuts fight to Holyrood
Holyrood, the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh

TRADE unionists in West Dunbartonshire took the fight against council cuts to the doorstep of Holyrood today, joined by the Lothian Trades Council, Unite Edinburgh, and RMT.

Despite the SNP Scottish government posting a £2 billion underspend last year, the Confederation of Scottish Local Authorities has warned that councils around the country face almost £1bn in cuts, resulting in as many as 7,500 job losses over the next three years.

West Dunbartonshire Council was not immune, facing unprecedented cuts this year, and further £9m next year before wage inflation.
