Unite pledges to continue to campaign for safety of late-night workers
Vauxhall bus station, London, England

UNITE vowed to continue its Get Me Home Safely Campaign today as delegates spoke of the danger facing women expected to travel home unaided after working late or unsocial hours.

Bus driver Jade Scoble noted that many public transport systems do not run around the clock, even though many workers finish their shifts late at night.

She reminded conference of the tragic case of Bobbi-Anne McLeod, an 18-year-old woman abducted from a bus stop by a young man and murdered in November 2021.
