US and South Korea follow North Korea's lead and launch missiles into the sea
A missile is fired during a joint training between US and South Korea at an undisclosed location in South Korea, Monday, June 6, 2022

THE United States and South Korea launched eight ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan today in response to a similar North Korean display the previous day.

The live-fire exercise involved eight Army Tactical Missile System devices, one American and seven South Korean, that were fired into South Korea’s eastern waters over a 10-minute period.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said his government would pursue “fundamental and practical security capabilities” to counter what he described as Pyongyang’s growing nuclear weapons and missile threat.
