US women’s rights trampled by Supreme Court
The overturning of Roe v Wade is major blow to the right to choose, report JOHN WOJCIK and CJ ATKINS
People gather in Downtown Atlanta on Friday, June 24, 2022, to protest to protest the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

AS EXPECTED, the Supreme Court of the United States has voted to overturn Roe v Wade, the landmark ruling that legalised abortion across the United States nearly 50 years ago.

The ruling marks the first time in US history that a constitutionally guaranteed right has ever been removed by the court.

The destruction of Roe is having immediate impact. In the state of West Virginia on Friday morning, the last clinic in the state providing abortion services closed its doors.
