COLOMBIAN workers have continued big anti-government rallies in protest against attacks on their rights, with President Ivan Duque accused of using the Covid-19 pandemic to favour big business.
On Thursday, the Unitary Central of Workers (CUT), the Confederation of Colombian Workers (CTC), and the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) called a joint demonstration against plans which would enable bosses to stop paying benefits and slash working hours under the pretext of “stabilising the economy.”
The measures include plans to cut pensions and health and safety legislation to allow business flexibility for large companies.
