Colombian President accused of presiding over regime of violence by human rights body
Ivan Duque

COLOMBIAN President Ivan Duque was accused of presiding over a regime of violence that has seen at least 178 anti-government protesters killed in a new report released on Wednesday.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) urged the Colombian authorities to conduct swift investigations and hold to account those responsible for the deaths and injuries.

More than 1,000 people have been injured and 7,400 Colombians displaced as the notorious Mobile Anti-Riot Squad (ESMAD) and the armed forces wage a brutal crackdown on protests which started on April 28.
