Interpol rejects demand to arrest former Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa for third time
INTERPOL has again refused to issue a red notice for the arrest of former Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa, saying the request does not comply with its rules.
In a letter sent on Wednesday, a commission of the international police organisation told the Ecuadorean Justice Department that it was rejecting the third such request and that it would not be pursuing the matter any further.
It said there was a lack of concrete information relating to the case against Mr Correa, who is living in exile in Belgium with his family.
