Mass murderer Breivik uses parole hearing to give Nazi salutes and promote racist propaganda

MASS murderer Anders Behring Breivik used a scheduled parole hearing today to give nazi salutes and display white supremacist propaganda.

The Norwegian far-right killer, who slew 77 people, mostly teenagers, in a bomb and gun massacre in 2011, is serving a 21-year jail sentence that can be extended indefinitely if courts consider he remains a threat to the public.

The unusual clause allowing Mr Breivik to be held indefinitely also allows him to challenge his imprisonment annually — which a victims’ family support group has warned will give him opportunities to promote racist propaganda.

He did this today with neonazi slogans on signs pinned to his clothing and suitcase, and also held up a racist placard.

He has sought to make contact with far-right activists in Europe and the United States from prison, though many of his letters have been seized by authorities.

Breivik detonated a bomb outside the government’s Oslo offices on July 22 2011, killing eight, before driving to the island of Utoya where he attacked a social-democratic youth camp, killing 69.
