AT least 82 massacres have taken place in Colombia this year, the Institute of Studies for Development and Peace said today, after three people were found dead over the weekend.
The bodies of the men were found in woodland in the El Carmen municipality of the north-eastern Santander state on Saturday. They had been shot in the face, authorities said.
But the victims are yet to be identified due to the ongoing instability in the region, with armed gangs active in the area amid tensions over territorial disputes.
