North and South Korea exchange gunfire

NORTH and South Korea exchanged gunfire today along their highly militarised shared western sea border.

The sea boundary between the two nations is the scene of past bloodshed and the latest developments increase tensions and the danger of further clashes.

It comes after North Korea recently carried out a series of weapons tests in the area.
