South Korea in national mourning after at least 153 people killed at packed Halloween party

SOUTH KOREA has declared a period of national mourning after at least 153 people were killed and dozens injured at a packed Halloween party in the capital Seoul.

Most of the victims are thought to be teenagers.

According to local media reports around 100,000 people, many dressed in costumes, had converged on the old Itaewon district of the capital to celebrate Halloween for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic.
