Warsaw summit a big step forward for European right, says Marine Le Pen

FRENCH fascist leader Marine Le Pen said a far-right conference hosted by Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party in Warsaw this weekend was a “step forward” that would enable the right to create a “big European force.”

The meeting was presided over by Law and Justice leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski and attended by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Spanish Vox party leader Santiago Abascal.

It was a follow-up to a July summit at which right-wing parties pledged a “renaissance” based on nationalism, the family and supposed Christian values.

Though they have yet to achieve unity within a single bloc in the European Parliament — Russophobia is a major strand of Polish and Hungarian nationalism, while French and Italian fascists have previously had good relations with the Vladimir Putin government — Ms Le Pen said they had taken steps toward further co-operation across the EU and would now meet bimonthly to co-ordinate.
