POLAND: A Warsaw court opened a defamation case today brought by the country’s most powerful politician, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, against a journalist who publicly alleges that he is gay.

Mr Kaczynski, the leader of Poland’s ruling right-wing party, is demanding an apology and a retraction from journalist Jan Pinski, who made the allegations on his YouTube channel last year.

Mr Pinski claimed that by hiding his sexuality, Mr Kaczynski leaves himself open to blackmail.
