MEXICO: Authorities found a journalist’s decapitated body on Saturday, nine days after he had been reported missing.

Victor Fernando Alvarez is the second media worker to be killed in Mexico this year, following the murder of Maria Elena Feral in the state of Veracruz last month.

Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, with at least 131 killed by crime syndicates in the last two decades, according to official statistics.
