GERMANY: The minimum wage will rise to €12 (£10.02) an hour, the cabinet agreed yesterday.
The rise is above the proposal of the panel that sets the rate, which is currently €9.82 (£8.20). Chancellor Olaf Scholz made the rise to €12 an election campaign pledge.
“Many citizens of our country work a lot but earn little — that must change,” said Mr Scholz.
