A SURVEY of primary school headteachers in West Yorkshire has revealed a “perfect storm” of problems caused by underfunding.

More than 40 responded to the survey by the Calderdale Against School Cuts (CASC) campaign group, with the concerns expressed including an inability to meet children’s needs, cuts to repairs and maintenance and potential teacher redundancies.

Ninety-six per cent said they were worried about balancing their school’s budget over the next three years and 80 per cent reported being unable to replace staff who leave.
