Dr. Leah Roberts, a reproductive endocrinologist-fertility specialist, looks through a microscope while discussing Florida’s six-week abortion ban, which took effect May 1, 2024, in her office and laboratory in Boca Raton, Fla., April 29

UNITED STATES: A ban on most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, before many women even know they are pregnant, took effect in Florida today.
