CHINA is a “counterforce” to US exploitation, a Kenyan communist leader told a central London meeting on Saturday evening.
Communist Party of Kenya vice-chairman and organising secretary Booker Ngesa Omole was the keynote speaker for a packed meeting on Africa, China and the Rise of the Global South at the historic Marx Memorial Library in London.
The meeting, organised by the Friends of Socialist China, also heard powerful contributions from Black Liberation Alliance’s Fiona Sim, Pan-African activist Cecil Gutzmore and RMT president Alex Gordon.
Marking milestones in the histories of China and the United States, this week offers a chance to examine two very different visions of the international order, says CARLOS MARTINEZ
Anyone who criticises those in power in Kenya risks their freedom or worse. The brutal abduction of Booker Omole marks a new escalation in a country sliding toward authoritarian rule, says MARC VANDEPITTE
BEN CHACKO welcomes a masterful analysis that puts class struggle back at the heart of our understanding of China’s revolution
A chance find when clearing out our old office led us to renew a friendship across 5,000 miles and almost nine decades of history, explains ROGER McKENZIE
