Cammell Laird shipyard workers set to strike due to pay and conditions dispute

HUNDREDS of shipyard workers who build Royal Navy Dreadnought submarines and type 26 frigates have voted to go on strike.

Unite and GMB unions today announced that more than 400 staff members have backed a walkout at the Cammell Laird site in Birkenhead.

Workers including welders, electricians, fitters, cleaners and office staff voted with a 96 per cent majority in favour of a strike.
