THE world has been watching atrocities unfold in Israel and Gaza since October 7, when the armed wings of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian armed groups from Gaza fired indiscriminate rockets and sent fighters into southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 Israelis, injuring more than 2,700 and taking hostages. 

In response, Israel has pledged to annihilate Hamas and launched an extensive bombardment campaign.

“Leave now because we will operate forcefully everywhere,” said Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu to the Palestinians of Gaza in a post on Twitter.
