Aid agencies call on British government to demand Israel end its siege

TWELVE international aid agencies have made a desperate plea to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to use his government’s influence with Israel to end its siege of Gaza to prevent further deaths and suffering. 

The coalition, including Oxfam, Action Against Hunger, War Child, Islamic Relief and Action Aid UK, called for an “immediate de-escalation and cessation of hostilities” and release of captives.

They said: “We are horrified by the escalating violence in recent days and the mounting civilian death toll in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank.
