Refugee becomes chair of Welsh language campaigners
Joseff Gnagbo

WELSH language campaigners elected a refugee from the Ivory Coast over the weekend as their new national chair.

Campaign group Cymdeithas yr Iaith elected Joseff Gnagbo, who was forced to leave the Ivory Coast as a political refugee in 2018.

Mr Gnagbo arrived in Wales as an asylum-seeker and it took him a year to become fluent in Welsh.
