Cardiff and Wrexham refuse workers announce six-week round of strikes over pay
REFUSE workers announced a six-week round of strikes today in their continuing dispute with Cardiff and Wrexham councils.
Unite Wales said strike action at both councils will continue and claimed the action has led to a huge disruption to council services, such as refuse collections and recycling.
The union said it has called further strike action after the failure of the two councils to engage in negotiations with Unite to tackle pay rates after the local authority pay offer of £1,925 was rejected.
