Brighton students enter second week of occupation
Students occupied Pavilion Parade in Brighton as a show of solidarity with striking lecturers last week

STUDENTS in Brighton have entered their second week of an occupation at the city’s university.

The occupation is in support of members of the University and College Union (UCU) who are on indefinite strike at Brighton University and also as a protest at student homelessness.

Brighton University authorities stopped lecturers’ pay when they implemented a ban on marking, even though the lecturers were carrying out other teaching duties.
