TSSA calls for public to sign petition against ticket office closures

TRANSPORT workers’ union TSSA has urged the public to force Parliament to debate ticket office closures by signing an online petition calling for them to remain open.

The petition so far has close to 100,000 signatures — enough for it to be considered for a parliamentary debate.

It calls on the government to require train operators to keep ticket offices and platform staff at train stations, to help maintain health and safety standards and customer information.
