MORE than 100 jobs are at risk at the University of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire as management imposes its fifth round of redundancies in four years.

The University and College Union (UCU) has accused the university management of spending tens of millions of pounds on new buildings and sitting on bank reserves of £179 million while sacking staff.

The union said the university had a surplus of £9m last year but that 105 jobs were at risk.
