Glasgow Airport workers reject poverty pay
HUNDREDS of Glasgow airport staff will be balloted for strike action after workers overwhelmingly rejected a below-inflation pay offer.
The Unite workers, spread across five firms at the site ranging from engineering technicians to cleaners, security staff and fire safety operatives, have refused pay awards what would leave hourly rates at between £12.61 and £10.82 per hour.
Unite industrial officer Pat McIlvogue said: “If these companies don’t come back with fair and decent offers, then a summer of travel chaos is on the horizon.
