Scottish junior doctors urged to back call for strike action in battle for higher pay
JUNIOR doctors in Scotland are being urged to back a call for strike action in their battle with Holyrood for higher pay.
British Medical Association (BMA) members received ballot papers today in a vote on whether they support walkouts as part of their campaign for a pay rise.
Junior doctors, who make up 44 per cent of NHS Scotland’s doctors, earn about £14 per hour and have received a mere 4.5 per cent uplift in the last year — less than half the rate of inflation.
