US: The Gun Violence Archives said on Wednesday that for the first time since it began collecting data, the US is on course to see more than 6,000 children and teens shot in a single year. 

The not-for-profit organisation said this would be an increase of at least 52 per cent on the 2,859 children and teenagers killed or injured since it first published statistics in 2014. 

SPAIN: Spain is about to conclude its hottest year on record, the nation’s weather service said on Wednesday.
