CLIMATE change activists stopped traffic on two key roads in central London today as they staged a slow march to demand that the government stops issuing new licences for fossil fuel projects.
Just Stop Oil protesters jammed the traffic at the Bricklayers Arms roundabout and in Old Kent Road before gathering outside St Paul’s Cathedral during the morning rush hour.
Police officers walked alongside the shuffling demonstrators, who wore orange high-vis vests, following the campaign group’s recent decision to walk slowly in the road rather than attempting to stop the flow of vehicles entirely.
