Brazilian politician involved in a shoot-out with federal police
A BRAZILIAN politician was involved in a shoot-out on Sunday with federal police officers seeking to arrest him.
Roberto Jefferson, a former right-wing legislator and close ally of President Jair Bolsonaro, shot at authorities and threw grenades as they came to his house to arrest him in the rural town of Comendador Levy Gasparian, in Rio de Janeiro state.
The incident led to a siege of Mr Jefferson’s home lasting several hours.
