TORY plans to introduce minimum service levels on public transport during strikes are an “autocratic attack on the freedom of working people,” unions warned today.
The government’s Transport Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill, which was introduced to the Commons today, will “conscript workers to break their own strikes” by forcing many to work during walkouts, transport unions stressed.
The widely criticised legislation, which ministers said may come into force across buses and trains next year, could end effective industrial action on public transport.
