TRAIN drivers are set to hold a 24-hour strike over pay, their union confirmed today as the biggest industrial action to hit the rail network since the 1980s gathers pace.
Aslef, which announced its members had backed walkouts across eight train operating companies earlier this week, said drivers will withdraw their labour on Saturday July 30.
The action will follow a fourth day of national strikes by Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) members across Network Rail and 13 train franchises on Wednesday July 27.
