St George's Hospital set for week-long strike
STRIKES over pay and working conditions at a south London hospital are set to continue despite “anti-union tactics” from bullying bosses, the GMB union has confirmed.
Cleaners and hostesses employed by contractor Mitie at St George’s Hospital in Tooting will withdraw their labour for a week from Monday, said the general union, which represents many outsourced workers in the health service.
The walkouts, which follow three days of strike action at the end of May and early June, come as the union accuses management of engaging in increasingly aggressive union-busting practices.
