A SOUTH London hospital faces “severe disruption” when outsourced staff go on strike next week over pay and working conditions, the GMB union warned today.

Cleaners and hostesses employed by contractor Mitie at St George’s Hospital in Tooting are to stage a 24-hour walkout on Monday, followed by a further strike on June 6 and 7.

The industrial action comes after the union accused the contractor of withholding workers’ wages for seven weeks during pay cycle restructuring.
