TORY ministers must urgently address the worsening cost-of-living crisis and introduce a new deal for workers, Usdaw demanded yesterday.

Addressing delegates on the opening day of the retail union’s annual conference, its president Jane Jones stressed people “need a strong union behind them more than ever” as prices continue to soar.

She told members in Blackpool: “We all know that the cost of everything seems to be going through the roof.
